WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The Sr. Manager, Resourcing is a cornerstone of Opus Agency’s Centralized Resourcing Team (CRT), responsible for building highly effective, scalable teams that are right sized for our global clients and events. This role requires deep collaboration with CRT peers and leadership, Event Management Leaders, Accounts & Sales, and other roles across the agency to ensure staffing decisions effectively balance individual career success, the financial health of the agency, and client priorities. 

Beyond day-to-day staffing, you play a vital role in the evolution of our department, CRT, by consistently evaluating and improving upon our collective systems and strategies. You will drive operational excellence and innovative practices that allow our team to remain agile and forward-thinking. 

The ideal candidate excels at maintaining detailed documentation while concisely summarizing business requirements for leadership. You must be able to resolve staffing challenges under time pressure, manage team expectations, and make sound, data-driven decisions in a fast-paced environment.

YOU SHOULD HAVE 

  • 5+ years of relevant resourcing or Event Management project leadership experience.
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office/Google Suite, with advanced spreadsheet skills including complex formulas, data modeling, and the ability to present reports to stakeholders.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical capabilities, with the ability to translate complex data and metrics into actionable business insights.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to executive leadership and provide professional, constructive feedback to colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritize a high-volume workload, thrive under pressure, and maintain focus through frequent interruptions or shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in budget management, forecasting, and financial reconciliation, including the application of percentages, ratios, and algebraic concepts to business scenarios.
  • A high degree of personal and professional integrity, with a proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Advanced reasoning skills to solve complex problems and navigate ambiguous situations where limited standardization exists.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drive the allocation of resources to projects by balancing the success and growth of our people, the agency’s financial health, and our clients’ priorities.
  • Partner effectively with Accounts & Sales and the Pricing team to understand (and sometimes help define) project scope and staffing requirements for new (includes RFP responses) and repeat business.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with team members, their managers, and their department leaders to align staffing assignments with professional growth and desired development paths.
  • Utilize knowledge of Event Management rates, pricing practices, and utilization metrics to inform profitable and sustainable staffing decisions.
  • Establish proficiency in the PSA (Professional Services Automation) tool to maintain a single source of truth for all current assignments, future staffing needs, and team member workloads and schedules.
  • Act as a critical liaison between Resourcing, Event Management leadership, and other roles in the agency to ensure transparent and concise reporting related to Resourcing performance.
  • Leverage data and agency tools to provide expert consultation on workforce supplementation, guiding decisions on opening new full-time hires versus utilizing freelancers.
  • Participate in contractor interviews, keeping the freelancer pool current, and actively expanding the network as needed.
  • Manage and track freelancer expense budgets and related communications to ensure a clear understanding of spend and accurate forecasting for monthly financial closes.
  • Exercise sound judgment to ensure all staffing and resourcing decisions remain within established budget parameters whenever possible.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of resourcing systems, processes, and strategies by identifying inefficiencies and proposing innovative solutions.
  • Collaborate with teammates and colleagues to lead and drive initiatives that achieve both department-specific and organization-wide goals.
  • Develop and drive plans of action that ensure staffing decisions are data-driven and align with broader organizational goals.
  • Support the rollout and adoption of new tools and processes through proactive education, training, and change management initiatives.
  • Support the creation of agency-wide resources and project management tools to ensure maximum effectiveness across teams.

HOW WE’LL TAKE CARE OF YOU

 

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting salary for this role is between $90,000 and $105,000. Our salary ranges are based on third-party national average market compensation analysis. The actual salary is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs, and market demands. The salary range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Physical Requirements:
Individuals will be required to sit for the majority of the day and will be required to stand as needed. May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day.
